I have joined The Matthew Club!!

I have been blessed with three dear friends. Ladies I have known for over 30 years now...

Nancy D. we met in El Paso when Bob and I were newlyweds. She had two boys, and her husband was in the military. Her oldest was named, Matthew. We enjoyed borrowing him to go to Disney movies. And one time we brought a cut gallon of ice cream over and when Matthew asked what flavor it was, I said, "guacamole liver". Matthew is now 38 years old, a Colonel in the Air Force, leaving his command in Germany to work for a general in Italy. married with two children.

Suzanne M. we met at church in Fort Worth. One of her sons name is Matthew. in his thirties, deployed to Bosnia, then Iraq...married with three children.

Mary K. we met at the elementary school our boys attended, and we worked in PTA together and became close friends. Her oldest son is named Matthew--also in his thirties, married with three little ones.

So now, I have joined the Matthew club. I have a grandson named Matthew. It was so fun calling each of my friends yesterday and telling them that they will love my grandson's new name! Indeed, they did and still do. I think I was the last one to join the grannie club with them, and now, I have also joined the Matthew club, too.

Thank you, Lord, for the gift of three good friends. Sisters in Christ. Friends through thick and thin. Enjoying each of the stages of kids, school, college, marriage, and now grandchildren with them. We are indeed blessed.
