I Got to Hold a New Born Baby This Morning !

How sweet to hold a newborn baby...
And feel the pride and joy he gives...

This morning at church, I got to hold a week old baby. They sat near us last week when he was just days old, and we oooo-ed and ah-ed over him. And volunteered last week to give the new mom and dad a rest. This morning they took us up on it ! Wow. To be handed a tiny sleeping baby. He has dark, long silky hair. My babies we all blonde baldies. So cute. So sweet. It was THE best gift. I can die happy now.

A month ago, I got to briefly hold a new baby girl. And a month and a half ago, we got to hold and play with our 14 month old granddaughter.

I just don't think you can hold babies too much. It was wonderful. They make little bird noises, they snuggle, they start. They are used to being all curled up in a ball. What a miracle, little babies. And they grow up too fast. My real baby turns 21 this year. And my oldest baby, 27. And that middle baby raises his right hand and swears to support and defend the Constitution of the United States in less than three weeks.

Our granddaughter is more than fifteen months, but who's counting? Yeah, it'll be different around here without any kids.
